Innopolis nominated at Venture Awards Russia


The final ceremony of Venture Awards Russia 2015 took place on December 5 in Moscow. The annual event was held by Russian media projects, in particular, RusBase and Firrma under support of Russian Venture Company and RwC.

Nikolay Nikiforov, Minister of Telecom and Mass Communication of Russia won in the nomination of the “Person of the Year”. The judging panel marked his work related to the development of Innopolis city. Shortly after the announcement of results in the public chat of Telegram, Nikolay Nikiforov wrote: “Dear Innopolis citizens, I believe that this awards belongs to all of us!”.

Building of a new city started three years ago. On June 9, 2015 the city was ready to welcome its first residents. Today Innopolis has 16 residential buildings with 840 apartments. 4 building are completely occupied. Construction of townhouses along with the second building of Technological Park on the territory of Innopolis SEZ is still in progress. Innopolis has launched the international school at Innopolis University and a kindergarten established as an educational center. Medical center and the IT lyceum at Innopolis University are about to open. The city counts 27 registered companies, including 15 residents of Innopolis SEZ.

Managing partners of Russian venture foundations, private investors and business angels, representatives of corporations and investment subdivisions of Russian companies and public research & development institutions took part in the Venture Awards Russia 2015 ceremony. Winners of awards were selected by a special Supervisory Board consisting of the venture market experts. This year it has been announced 12 nominations.
