You can see the “floating” scientist in the main square of Innopolis University. The piece was created by Serbian–Russian artist Dragan Radenović and was officially handed over to the university today by the Institute for Sustainable Development of Settlements.

The bronze Tesla is shown seated “in the vastness of his own Universe,” balanced on one foot and reading a scientific treatise.

Nikola Tesla was a legendary inventor and engineer whose ideas laid the foundation for alternating current systems, the Tesla coil, and many radio technologies.

Now he “floats” in Innopolis as a symbol of how human ideas can transform the world. Plans are already in place to add a pedestal and landscape the area around the sculpture.
