The election of the city mayor took place at the first meeting of the newly constituted Council of Deputies of the city of Innopolis

Ildar Khuzzyatov has been elected mayor following the vote. He had been serving as the head of Innopolis since December 5, 2025. Ildar Khuzzyatov is a member of the expert council of the Innopolis Special Economic Zone (SEZ) and a participant in the talent pool of the Rais (Head) of the Republic of Tatarstan.

«Ildar Khuzzyatov has been part of the Innopolis team since 2015 and has come a long way alongside the city. He knows Innopolis and its residents well, having been directly involved in its development throughout these years. Today, the city continues to grow, and a new phase lies ahead. I am confident that Ildar Ravilevich will maintain a people-centric approach and continue the consistent development of Innopolis—creating conditions for the technology companies and specialists who choose the city as a place to live and work with their families,» noted Roman Shaikhutdinov, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan.

Key development priorities for Innopolis include facilities for technology businesses, the enhancement of the urban environment, and the promotion of science-focused tourism.

A social mortgage program for those working in Innopolis was launched in late 2025; the program has already received over 100 applications. Work is currently underway on the site planning for future housing construction, scheduled for 2027. Program participants will be able to purchase housing at an annual interest rate of 7%.

«Innopolis is growing, and our task is to grow with it by creating new opportunities for a comfortable life and work in the city: building housing, creating jobs, and developing infrastructure and public spaces. At the same time, we will continue to develop Innopolis as an experimental sandbox for technology—a place where new solutions can be tested in a real-world city setting together with its residents,» notes Ildar Khuzzyatov. The number of jobs will grow alongside residential development. An office for the IT division of a major Russian bank is preparing to open at the N.I. Lobachevsky Technopark.

The Innopolis Special Economic Zone (SEZ) will continue to develop infrastructure for technology companies. Plans are in place to open "InnoPark 2.0"—a facility for high-tech manufacturing—in 2027. The first InnoPark opened in 2022 and is currently fully occupied; 23 companies are developing projects there involving robotics, drones, electronic equipment, and electronics.

New technologies continue to be tested directly within the urban environment. Innopolis has already become a testing ground for autonomous vehicles, delivery robots, unmanned aerial systems, and other solutions.

Another area of development is science tourism. A «Science Trail" is being designed in Innopolis; this route will feature 12 interactive installations that explain physical, mathematical, environmental, and engineering phenomena using the city's surrounding environment.

Ildar Khuzzyatov has been working on the development of Innopolis since the city's founding. He began his work in 2015 as a specialist and project coordinator before eventually heading the city's Executive Committee. In 2025, he graduated from the "School of Mayors," a federal program designed to develop the municipal management talent pool.
