The QRBin system, which displays the fullness of recycling bins, has been launched in test mode. The project was created by students Andrey Komyagin and Evgeniya Zhibitskaya at a hackathon at Innopolis University. It is now being piloted in Innopolis.

The online map displays the status of each site. Simply scan the QR code on the bin and mark its fullness level.

This system is expected to allow city services to see which bins are already full. This system will thus help reduce carbon emissions in the future.
