166 top athletes from 24 Russian regions competed in individual and team races

On June 25–26, Innopolis hosted the Alfa-Bank Russian Road Cycling Championship — for the first time in the Republic of Tatarstan.

The race route ran through the city streets. The winners were Natalia Frolova (Tula Region), Pyotr Rikunov (Oryol Region), and the mixed relay team from Saint Petersburg.

“The course was exciting — with turns, descents, and headwinds. It made the race dynamic. The city is clean, modern — a pleasant place to be,” said Valeria Valgonen from Saint Petersburg.

The awards ceremony was attended by Deputy Prime Minister of Tatarstan Roman Shaykhutdinov, Minister of Sports of Tatarstan Vladimir Leonov, President of the Russian Cycling Federation Yuri Kucheryavy, and President of the Tatarstan Cycling Federation Ilnur Zakarin.

A community ride was also held for residents — over 80 locals took part.

The championship was organized with the support of the Russian and Tatarstan Cycling Federations, the Republic’s Government, and the Innopolis Administration.
